Community outreach with elderly assisted living.

Elim United Church Youth Group Spreads God’s Love at Grace Assisted Living

On Saturday, March 15th, the Elim United Church Youth Group had the privilege of spending the day with the wonderful residents of Grace Assisted Living in Nampa, ID. It was a day filled with joy, love, and connection as our youth group went on a community outreach mission to spread the love of God to those who may not always have visitors or company.

Our group arrived with open hearts and a mission to make a difference. We started the visit by singing uplifting hymns that brought smiles to the faces of the residents. It was heartwarming to see them join in, tapping their feet and humming along to the songs they cherished. Music has such a special way of connecting us, and it was evident that the familiar tunes brought a sense of peace and comfort to everyone present.

In addition to singing, our youth group handed out freshly baked pastries to the residents, sharing a small but meaningful token of love. It was amazing how something as simple as a warm pastry could brighten someone’s day. We had the opportunity to chat with many of the seniors and listened to their stories. Their lives are full of experiences and lessons, and we left feeling enriched and inspired by their perspectives.

A Special Thanks to Our Wonderful Youth Members!

A heartfelt thank you to the youth members of Elim United Church for dedicating your time and energy to connect with the elder members of the community at Grace Assisted Living. Your willingness to serve and spread God’s love through your songs, conversations, and simple acts of kindness truly made a difference in the lives of those you visited. We are so proud of each of you for showing Christ’s love in such a tangible and meaningful way!

The experience was a beautiful reminder of the importance of community and the simple, yet powerful ways we can share God’s love with others. It was an honor for our youth group to bring joy and companionship to the residents of Grace Assisted Living, and we are grateful for the opportunity to serve and build meaningful relationships with the elderly members of our local community.

We look forward to more outreach opportunities like this one, where we can continue to spread God’s love and shine His light in our community. Thank you to everyone who participated and made this day so special! Let’s continue to serve and love one another as Christ taught us.
