Helping the homeless this holiday season

This week, the power of faith and community came together in a beautiful way as volunteers from Elim United Church partnered with Got a Ticket.org to host a supply drive for the homeless in Meridian. Inspired by the teachings of Christianity and the boundless love of God, this initiative aimed to bring comfort and hope to those in need during the holiday season.

With the support of local Treasure Valley businesses, including Business Cleaning Solutions, volunteers worked diligently to gather, sort, and box up essential winter supplies. Items such as socks, warm clothing, food, and hygiene products were collected to provide relief and dignity to individuals and families facing homelessness. All items are headed to Corpus Christi day shelter in Boise.

Through these acts of service, we sought to reflect God’s love in action—offering not just material aid but also the reassurance that no one is forgotten or unloved. This collaborative effort is a testament to the strength of faith and the importance of extending kindness to our neighbors in need.

A Thank you to the Event Sponsors

This wonderful event couldn’t have happened without the generous support of Business Cleaning Solutions and Got A Ticket.org. Their team understands the importance of giving back to the community and helping those in need. Finally, we want to recognize our good friends at Corpus Christi say shelter for their continued hard work in serving those in need. This holiday season remember that true faith is demonstrated through tangible acts of love and care for others.

James 2:15-16

“Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,’ but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?”

As we move through the holiday season, let us continue to share God’s love through compassion and generosity. Together, we can make a difference, one act of kindness at a time. May God bless your friends, family and community this holiday season.
